Down Syndrome, Autism and CP
Today at Resala Nasr City we met with children of special needs. We played with them using various games. I sat with some of them. One of them had down syndrome and another had CP. A third but younger one had autism. I gave them plasticine to form letters with. We then gave them papers with drawings in them to color.
After we finished and the kids left, we discussed with each other the case of each child. The ‘games’ were used to learn about he kids and discover the abilities and level of advancement of each of them. Based on this, we came up with what to be done with each child during the next sessions in order to further improve his/her abilities.
The group working with the children are all volunteers except for one employee who is working at Resala and is responsible for the Special Needs Children activity.
