Used Clothes
You may call 19450 and the Resala branch nearest to you will answer your call. Tell them you would like to donate some of your used clothes. They will ask you for your name and address. They will send you a representative at the time you decide is best for you. Give the Resala representative a plastic bag containing your used clothes when he knocks on your door and he will provide you with a receipt. Alternatively, you may take the plastic bag containing your used clothes with you and drop it by at the nearest Resala branch. They will provide you with a receipt upon receiving your used clothes. By the way, you may also put used children’s toys with those clothes.
Besides donating your used clothes to Resala, you may also help out in sorting the used clothes. Almost every day, as plastic bags full of used clothes gather in the sorting room, a group of volunteers starts sorting the clothes out. A pile is made for dresses, another for shoes, a third for trousers and so on. Clothes is then washed and ironed then packed into larger bags.

Resala organizes fairs at poor areas in Egypt and sells those clothes for very cheap prices after sorting them out, cleaning them and ironing them. Some pieces of clothes are sold as cheap as 1 and 2 pounds each. Others can be sold for 3 to 7 pounds. No piece of clothes may exceed 15 LE. The revenue from such fairs is then spent on the orphans residing at Resala. By doing so, Resala has:
- Benefited the low income families by providing them with extremely inexpensive clothes in fairs near their place of residence.
- Brought back funds to spend on the orphaned children.
- Made you feel good about giving away your used clothes for a good cause.
- Allowed volunteers to do good by sorting the clothes at the sorting section of Resala and selling them at the designated poor areas.
